Mitel’s MX-ONE solution, designed for branch offices and larger healthcare facilities, provides a fail-safe mechanism through its remote MX-ONE unit or standalone MX-ONE SBN failover system. These systems ensure local trunk availability and autonomy with users automatically re-registering to the main system upon restoration of the primary network. This makes them an ideal solution for healthcare settings where continuous communication is non-negotiable. We have decades of best practice network design experience that we bring to your organisation.

Data Centre Resilience

Mitel’s dual-system data centre approach offers an automatic transition between primary and secondary systems, ensuring continuation of communication during hardware failures at the network level. This approach not only guarantees high availability, but also enhances overall system performance and reliability, significantly reducing the risk associated with data and communication failures.

On 8th November 2023, Australia’s second largest telco, Optus experienced a nationwide failure that left its customers - consumers, small business, enterprise and government - without landlines, mobile services and internet. Nearly half of Australia's population was disconnected, significantly impacting hospitals and emergency services. As reported by Reuters, the outage rendered emergency triple zero ("000") calls nonfunctional from Optus landlines, posing a severe threat to public safety and healthcare access.

During this unprecedent national network outage, hospitals and entire health districts using Mitel platforms continued to function. Our mission-critical solutions are not internet-dependent, ensuring that vital calls and messages within the hospitals and their connected sites remained open, even when the external network failed. The adaptability, reliability, and advanced failover technology of Mitel’s platforms made them an indispensable asset for the hospitals administrators, enabling them to maintain their organisations’ focus on patient care and emergency response without the added concern of communication services breakdowns.
